Overview
In many ways, a proper understanding of the Christian worldview begins with the creation of the universe. Given the many competing assumptions about the origin of the world and its implications, an important element of becoming a mature and equipped follower of Jesus Christ is learning to see the world from God’s point of view. We call this developing a biblical worldview. Your worldview is your personal philosophy, your own pattern of thinking about life, that guides your decisions and the way you live. Part of that view includes God’s design for humanity. He made us in His image and likeness, a design that makes us capable of enjoying His fellowship and exercising dominion over His world. Our design places us at the height of the glory of creation in His eyes, and so you, along with all people, are marvelously significant to Him. God also gives us, as His image-bearers, stewardship over all of creation to both protect life and carry out the cultural mandate.
You will:
Explore the foundations of a biblical worldview in the Creation of the world
Examine the influence of naturalism in our society
Evaluate the false dichotomy between science and the Bible
Learn what it means to be an image-bearer
Explore how the gospel applies to the sanctity of human life
Consider how the cultural mandate should shape your view of work, wealth, and property
