God’s Plan of Salvation: Redemption and Assurance

Overview

When you look at the world through a biblical worldview, you see that this is a broken, fallen world. This section will examine what God is doing about this situation and how he plans to redeem a people for Himself. You will learn that the gospel’s power to save is rooted in the fact that God graciously imputed Christ’s righteousness to your account when you first believed in Him. You will also see that justification removes the enmity between you and God, paving the way for your adoption into His family. As His child you can now enjoy His fellowship and fatherly care. You can also look forward to the glorious inheritance that will be yours when Christ returns.

In this Journey Section you will:

• Consider what it means to be justified by God and adopted into his family
• Learn about how we can have the assurance of knowing we will go to heaven when we die
• Consider how God conforms us into his image and what role we have to play in that process
• Explore the biblical doctrine of glorification and what it means for us now
